Illusion of Dream and Reality                                         by Khayke Brurie Wiegand

In the shadows of the lost city,

the spirit of illusion hovers—

two storks

in the shimmering red twilight

of the past.

ÒWhat is the difference

between dream and reality?Ó

my life asks

the spirit of the Sphinx.

ÒIn dreams

the dream is always real—

in reality

the dream is always just a dream.Ó

I take off my mask

and enjoy the pleasure of sorrow.

ÒCould it not also be just the opposite?Ó

asks my life.

Two storks

in the shimmering red twilight

of the past.

ÒWhen all is said and done,

youÕre still in your own time.Ó
